Early access · Customer stories

Customer stories from the first eCommerce Insights cohort.

eCommerce Insights is Early access. This page is the space where live customer stories, named brands, and real numbers will land — as each brand in the first cohort gives the go-ahead to publish. No fabricated logos. No mocked testimonials. Named stories when they're real, and not a moment earlier.

The pattern we see

What a eCommerce Insights customer tends to look like.

These are customer profiles, not customer stories. They describe the pattern of brands in the Early access cohort, not fictional companies. When we have permission to name real brands, those stories land here.

Customer profile · 01

Mid-market Shopify Plus apparel brand

$40M GMV · 2,200 SKUs · two-person in-house SEO team

They rank well on Google for category queries. They started noticing that Perplexity and ChatGPT were recommending competitors by name in roughly half the buyer questions they asked. Their goal with eCommerce Insights: find the SKU-query combinations where they're missing and ship PDP fixes faster than the SEO roadmap would allow.

Customer profile · 02

D2C supplements brand on Shopify

$18M GMV · 140 SKUs · head of growth owns SEO part-time

Small catalog, but every SKU matters. They want to know when an AI engine cites a competitor on a core "best X for Y" query and they want the PDP change ready the same week. eCommerce Insights fits because the recommendations ship as diffs they can read without a specialist.

Customer profile · 03

Shopify-focused SEO agency

14 client brands · 38,000 SKUs combined · four consultants

They need cross-brand visibility reporting their clients will actually open, plus a catalog-wide PDP audit that doesn't take a week to prep. eCommerce Insights's multi-brand dashboard and white-labeled reports (Early access) let them sell quarterly GEO retainers without hiring another analyst.

Benchmarks in progress

What we'll publish when the first cohort signs off.

The questions eCommerce Insights intends to answer publicly, with real data, once live customers agree to share results. No numbers will be published here until they are verifiable.

  1. How much did weekly SKU-level tracking change PDP work priorities? Did teams actually reprioritize the top-10 SKUs by visibility gap over the top-10 by page-view?
  2. Which PDP changes moved the AI-visibility score the fastest? Across the first cohort, we'll publish the ranked list of change types (title rewrite, schema completeness, review schema, body answer coverage) by average score delta.
  3. Which AI engine was the most volatile? eCommerce Insights tracks six. We'll share which of them moved rankings week-to-week the most, so brands can prioritize where to test first.
  4. How often did a Google #1 ranking predict a ChatGPT citation? Anecdotally the overlap is weaker than SEO teams assume. A multi-brand dataset will let us say something defensible.
  5. What's the median time from scan to shipped PDP fix? For teams using Shopify push vs. recommendation-only mode.
  6. Where does SKU-level tracking make brand-level tracking obsolete, and where does it not? Honest answer, not a sales answer.

Until that data is real, the rest of the site leans on what's verifiable: product capabilities, category context, and published competitor claims. Read the product page to see what eCommerce Insights does, or the product AI visibility guide for the category-wide framing. Industry background on Shopify's merchant base is covered on Shopify's own site.
